Client information

If graphic design and visual communication are an uncharted territory for you, don't worry. I'm here to guide you every step of the way. All designers work in slightly different ways. So whether you're a future or current client, check out my workflow, FAQs, and service terms. And, of course, feel free to send any questions my way.

Request estimate

I realize that even if you feel that I’m your best fit, you want to know what my work will cost. I totally get it. Fill out the form below, and I’ll do my best to get you an estimate of what a project of your scope will cost.

Workflow

From initial contact through to the completion of your project, I'm here to ensure that your project runs as smoothly as possible. The following is the workflow that you can expect from working with me.

Convene

We’d start by meeting and discussing your project over coffee—or tea, if that's your thing—in person, over the phone, or via video conference. I want to familiarize myself with you and your vision for your project. I'll inquire about your design goals and details and exchange some ideas with you. After our talk, I’ll send you a project proposal.

Project proposal

I’ll form a creative brief. This will outline your project, its goals, your values and ideas, and a scoop of my exploration, including information on your targeted audiences, potential challenges and constraints, likely outcomes, and deliverables.

Downpayment

If you accept my bid for your project, I’ll require a 50% down payment of the estimated cost to schedule and begin work.

Researching + drafting

Though some research was preliminarily done for your estimate, I’ll continue on identifying your target market research for most projects and begin drafting your project designs. I’ll usually start with word graphs and move onto roughs and develop ideas into a unified proofreading presentation.

Proofing

I’ll send you a proof via email with a link to your proof file. After reviewing your first project proof, you’ll be able to make comments and edit requests directly on the proof file, by replying to proof email, or by giving me a call.

Editing + refining

After I receive your feedback on the initial proof, I’ll commit your edits to your project, proofing back and forth until you’re happy with the project design. I’m happy to make any changes that you request, and we can always take a moment to convene and deliberate. If changes go beyond the scope of the original of estimate, I’ll notify you that additional costs may / will be added to your final payment.

Publishing

After proofing and receiving final approval from you, your project is ready to publish. Print materials would be sent to press. Code work would be uploaded / submitted. I’d notify you when deliverables are ready.

Final payment

Once I provide you with digital deliverables or order materials associated with your project, I’ll send you an invoice for the second 50% of the estimated cost or remaining billable work, if more or less design time was incurred.

Project release

Once I receive your second payment on the project, the final approved artwork is yours. I will store your projects’ artwork for at least three years for your convenience.

FAQs

How much do I charge?

I don’t have flat charges for spec projects (the price for one logo, for example). However, I do have a fairly solid idea of how much time most projects take to develop. My design time rate is 75.00 USD per hour of work. Please request an estimate. I’ll be sure to let you know what your project would take to make a reality. I don’t charge for initial project consulting.

Why do I request a 50% downpayment?

I ask for a 50% downpayment on the estimate cost for the project as a security. The downpayment allows the client good faith that I’ll complete the project since I can only collect the total payment when the project is published and allows me the insurance that I get paid for my work even if the client decides to terminate the project early or ghosts me—unfortunately, that’s happened before.

How do I receive payments?

I can accept payment for your project a variety of different ways: I can receive a check at PO Box 2329, Hailey, ID, 83333, United States. I can generate and send a weblink for clients to pay via credit card through Square. And I can run a credit card transaction or collect cash payment and checks in-person if you’re in the Sun Valley, Idaho area.

Do I do any last-minute designs or quick-turnaround jobs?

Absolutely! If I have available time, bring it on! I charge a 25% rush fee on top of project costs to start work within five days. I do this because I’d have to displace scheduled client work or work additional day hours to complete your project.

What kind of graphic design services do I offer?

While I like to consider myself a design generalist, I specialize in brand development. Brand development is multifaceted and involves everything from logo to website to ads to print materials to specific use-case graphics such as social media and newsletters. I can always pop the hood of an existing website or web app to make edits to functionality. Additionally, I am able to take simple photographs for your project such as portraits, events, buildings, and products.

How do I send final project files?

I’ll send final files via a Creative Cloud link that will remain live for one week. If your project involves a logo, I’ll include .svg versions and .jpg and .png versions sized at 2400px, 1200px, 600px, and 300px width resolutions—if you require any other specific resolutions or specific-case versions, I’ll be happy to produce those for you.
