Stephen McDougall Graham for County Clerk campaign
When Stephen McDougall Graham was appointed as county clerk, he made sure to be a positive force in the office, implementing changes to make the transition smoother. Yet, come campaign time, he faced an uphill battle with few knowing who he was and no public image to draw in attention. Recognizing a need for a tangible campaign strategy with maximum reach in limited time, Stephen’s campaign leaders suggested that he should get in touch with me in order to design his personal brand. After some in-depth conversations and thoughtful consideration, we ended up designing something fitting for a campaign—a unique campaign voice that gave Stephen recognition when it most counted.
After exploring many different options for campaign design, we eventually found a winning formula that was crisp, confident and amicable, reflecting the overall objectives of the campaign. The logo incorporated an abstract M-shaped mountain range set within a circle with a checkmark above, suggesting the checking of a ballot for the clerk. This was then complemented with the use of Museo typeface which matched some of the broader shapes in the logo. To top it off, a bright color palette of navy blue, daisy yellow, and bright white provided a strong brand foundation across various campaign material designs. This dynamic mix brought to life an engaging campaign voice that was conducive to Stephen's campaign objectives as a clerk.
